Hello, and welcome to my corner of the internet jungle

I’m Vanja, an overly caffeinated scribbler and wanderer who enjoys simple things and loves to talk with her hands (as seen below).

This site is a bit of an outlet – part work, part personal, part in-between. It’s where I share what I do, what I love, and hopefully spark a few good conversations or collaborations along the way. Where it goes from here? That’s a space we could explore together, if it feels right.

I try to keep things slow and thoughtful, creating from a place rooted in quality, not pressure.

Now that we’re on the same page, let me properly introduce myself.

My work, my wanderings, and my writings might seem like separate threads, but they’re all part of the same fabric: a desire to connect through stories, whether it’s helping a blog find its rhythm, exploring mountain paths just outside my door, or untangling the cultural layers of the Balkans I carry within me.

Let’s start with the part that pays the bills – but it’s also where my love of structure meets storytelling.

The Path to Blog Management: A Blend of Passion and Experience

Years of working on digital marketing projects in fast-paced environments gave me a lot: experience, a diverse set of skills, and an unthinkable burnout. But let’s start from the beginning.

My digital journey started with my first blog, where the highlight of my HTML skills was copy/pasting open-source theme codes based on my mood – switching from emo to SpongeBob in a second, like any teenager would. I built and ran my first website during my university days, wrote for both print and online publications, and later worked in various roles across digital industries. So, it’s safe to say I’ve been orbiting the world of words and the web for quite some time.

Each step quietly shaped the next and brought me to where I feel most at home: working as a Blog Manager.

I partner with entrepreneurs and small businesses to help their blogs do what they’re meant to do: connect, inform, and build trust. Think of me as a blog’s personal trainer. I’m here to keep it showing up, getting stronger, and never skipping leg day (or, in this case, content day), even when motivation is low and coffee is doing most of the heavy lifting.

If blog feels like just one more thing you don’t have time for, I step in to handle the process. From planning topics and organizing ideas to keeping schedules on track and making sure blog posts get published, I bring structure, strategy, and accountability to the table. The goal isn’t just to keep your blog alive. It’s to build a quiet, consistent content system that supports your business in the background.

Curious how I can help lighten the blog workload? Take a look at my blog management services and let’s see if we’re a good fit.

Finding My Way in the Bergamo Alps

My life isn’t all digital, though. The view outside my window changed, and so did the way I move through the world.

I grew up in the flatlands, where the horizon felt endless and predictable. Now I live at the foot of the Bergamo Alps, where every view offers a new perspective and every trail feels like an open invitation. Moving here brought more than a change in scenery. It completely redefined what I thought “easy” meant (especially when locals say it with a straight face before sending me up a 60-degree incline).

At first, I did what most people would: downloaded hiking apps, read reviews, picked routes with good ratings, and relied on cautious optimism. But some trails can only be found through local wisdom, and “moderate difficulty” often translates to “hope you brought crampons.” I’ve learned to laugh through it, trust my instincts, and embrace the unpredictable.

The Bergamo Alps Energy space was born from that messy mix of awe, frustration, and joy. It’s part hiking journal, part guide, and part personal reminder that not all who wander are lost – but many of us could use better trail descriptions. If you’ve ever felt unsure where to begin, needed a nudge to get outside without overthinking it, or just wanted to escape the busy streets of Milano (without straying too far from civilization), you might feel at home here.

I’m sharing hikes for different moods and energy levels, honest stories from the path, and tips I wish someone had told me sooner. Whether you’re just passing through, settling in, or simply mountain-curious, you’re welcome here. Maybe we’ll even end up sharing a trail one day.

Rooted in the Balkans: Stories From a Region That Defies Definition

Still, no matter how far I wander, there’s a Balkan soul anchoring me.

The flatlands where I was born and raised are part of the Pannonian plain, near the Danube River, though pinpointing the exact country can be tricky. As one local rock musician put it, “Here, no one’s born and buried in the same country.” That complexity is what makes the Balkans so rich, layered, and hard to define. It’s a region shaped by contradictions, chaotic yet soulful, stubborn yet warm, always balancing history, humor, and heart.

I often try to explain what “Balkan” means, only to realize it resists tidy answers. Is it geography? A mindset? A cultural patchwork shaped by Ottoman, Austro-Hungarian, and Byzantine legacies? A place where food, music, and traditions blur across borders? Maybe it’s all of that. Or maybe it’s just something you feel.

This space, Balkan Essence, is where I share those feelings and stories. It’s not a guidebook or a typical travel blog. It’s more personal: a collection of culture, destinations, customs, food, and everyday absurdities, told through the lens of someone who lives it, not just visits. I’m not here to correct tourist takes. I just want to offer something only a local can: a deeper layer.

If you’ve ever been curious about the region, or never thought about it at all, you’re welcome here. Whether you’re planning a trip or wandering the internet, I hope these stories help you connect a little more. Or at least smile at the chaos.

Let’s Start a Conversation

As you can probably tell by now, I’m a fan of slower, more thoughtful ways of sharing and taking in information. You won’t find me on social media – after years of being online, it no longer feels like the right pace or place for me. I prefer quieter, slower, and more grounded ways to connect and engage. I write simply and honestly, always hoping that something here feels familiar or relatable.

Now it’s your turn. I’d really love to hear from you, whether you have a question, a story to share, an idea you’ve been thinking about, or you just feel like saying hello. Don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m always open to thoughtful conversations, curious exchanges, or simply connecting with someone new. You never know – a simple message might be the start of something meaningful, creative, or just plain fun.
